Job Responsibilities
As a Customer Success Manager you will be responsible for working with prospects and customers in the energy and utility sector to identify market needs and use cases related to weather-driven planning and decisions. This role involves building deep relationships with customers by understanding their pain points and being an advocate for them, helping them achieve their desired outcome when using the Salient platform, and identifying new product capabilities to deliver relevant insights.
Play a key role in sales activities and business development by conducting “discovery” processes to understand the customer needs and supporting the customer’s evaluation process.
Onboard customers to Salient's platform and ensure that customers understand how to gain insights tailored to their business.
Promote product adoption by understanding customer goals, executing proof of concepts, and advising the stakeholders on how to leverage the product to achieve business value.
Curate and recommend product enhancements that will deliver value to customers. Work closely with the product and science team to ensure that new features are supporting customer needs.
Work with sales to increase retention prevent churn, build loyalty, and generate account expansion revenue
Qualifications:
Meteorology degree and strong understanding of atmosphere/ocean/climate dynamic
Domain knowledge of utility and energy sector
Familiarity with geospatial data (e.g. NetCDF, GeoTIFF, GeoJSON, PostGIS)
2+ years experience in management consulting, start-up environments, business development, and/or customer-facing roles
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong project management skills: Ability to drive outcomes across teams in a timely fashion
A good listener: able to hear and understand the customer needs and the different perspectives of relevant stakeholders
